Harry Babb founded Cashiers Insurance Agency in 1973 in Cashiers, North Carolina. He had worked for Wachovia when he decided to go into the insurance business. Ever since CIA, Inc was founded it has been a family owned business. His son, Michael Babb and daughters, Deborah Hicks and Carla Tucker have all been employees of Cashiers Insurance Agency and they still remain as agents/owners. CIA, Inc was first located on Hwy 107 South on the main street of Cashiers but has since moved to US 64 in downtown Cashiers.
